Mallet Cookies with Chocolate Chips

An unconventional way of making a design on a cookie – yes, using a mallet! It’s a simple but delicious cookie with an intricate design that is always being asked about by those who enjoy them! There is also a chocolate, a splash of liqueur, and vanilla. Simple, but super yummy!

~ 5 Tbsp butter, room temp
~ 1/3 cup sugar
~ 1 egg, room temp
~ 1/3 cup chocolate (mini chips)
~ 1 Tbsp Grand Marnier liqueur
~ 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
~ 1 & 3/4 cup flour
~ 1/4 tsp salt
~ 2 tsp baking powder

Step 1: Prepare flour mixture
In bowl sift: 1 & 3/4 cup flour, 1/4 tsp salt, and 2 tsp baking powder

Step 2: Prepare egg mixture
In small cup mix: 1 egg, 1 Tbsp Grand Marnier liqueur, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Step 3: Make batter
In a mixer with paddle attachment butter mix with sugar until fluffy.
Add egg mixture
Add flour mixture
Fold in chocolate chips
Place the batter in fridge for 1-2 hrs

Take the batter out of the fridge and start forming small balls, then put meat mallet on the top of each cookie ball to squish it (dip in flour to prevent mallet from sticking to the cookie)
Bake at 350 for 15-18 min.
