Hi – witam! and thank you for stopping by. I am Annette and a proud mama of this blog. I am originally from Poland and I love sweets! I love cakes, cookies, tarts, desserts, etc., basically, everything sugar related, I love them all!
Back in Poland, I used to spent long hours in the kitchen with my babcia (grandma) who absolutely loved to bake. You could say we would go wild for the holidays by baking extravagant as well as easy cakes, torts and everything else in between. There were times when we would skip dinners and went straight for desserts… this is how much we both loved sweets!
We always baked from scratch (and I try to continue with that tradition!) with a focus on the flavor rather than sugar.
She always said she would pick sweet dishes over savory, and I too felt that way! And that’s how Sweet over Salt was born. I wish she was still here to see it, she would be so proud!
After I arrived in the US, I became friends with my neighbor, Korina who had a vast library of Greek and French recipes. We have been spending plenty of time baking European recipes that we remember from our childhood. We have translated many and tested even more. My goal is to slowly add them all to my website. So stay tuned!
